Best way to stick a Poster to wall without peeling paint...

Hi Fellas

Anyone know the easiest and safest way to stick a poster onto a wall without peeling off the paint when the poster is removed in 6 months time?

I have a 40cm x 100cm poster that has been made from 8 A4's (cutand stuck to make 1 40cm x 100cm poster). This has then been stuck onto 2 big black cards. The black cards have been stuck together with a bit of tape on the back at the edge where they meet. The end result is a 40cm x 100xm poster.

I wish to stick this on a wall.

I've been told to create double sided masking tape 'squares' and use that in the corners. Not sure if they could take the weight.

Also there is this: <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VELCRO%ae-BRAND-SELF-ADHESIVE-STICK-ON-16MM-COINS-SPOTS_W0QQitemZ400124233568QQcmdZViewItem?rvr_id=&rvr_id=&cguid=223dd9011290a0aad203e753fffb288a" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VELCRO%ae-BRAND-S ... 53fffb288a</a><!-- m -->

Any further ideas?

Thanks

Do what you're told mate. You want the strength of a permanent fixing that isn't permanent, it's an almost impossible request.

Those velcro pads will do the job, they have a semi permanent self adhesive pad that really sticks to anything.

If your lucky and careful you might get the card back off the wall without ripping the paint off at the fixing points, if you do you could then use lighter fluid to dissolve the adhesive and remove the fixings off the wall without damage.

Depends on the paint or you try a load of Blu Tack.

What colour is the wall?

Because the technique everyone I know that is doing this in a rented place with white/magnolia walls is to use drawing pins and when doing the exit phase fill the holes with a bit of toothpaste, give it a wipe over so there's no over spill or too much minty freshness left over.

Only works on white/light walls though. If it's something different, add the use of a fanny hair* brush and a matchpot of paint that's nearly the right colour (only on the toothpaste bit though).

* a fanny hair brush isn't one made of fanny hair, it's one with a very fine end - like size 000 or 0000
