Best pre-shave

My favourite is the Proraso sensitive.

Recently I have been going minimal and getting really great results with Mitchell's woolfat shaving soap - lathering with the soap as a preshave.

I face lather with it. Shower and wash it off and then go back and lather and shave normally.

This has a bonus side effect that it blooms the soap before the real lathering and it also warms up the brush.
 
I've tried all manner of stuff for preshave and TBH have found very little difference in outcome - the exception being that Proraso Preshave is essential after returning from a no-shave holiday. Choice of razor and soap (chosen dependant upon growth) seem most important.

That said, last week I mixed it up a bit and knocked one out before having a shower. Post shower shave was BBS.
