Beginner astrophotography

Last night was a lovely clear, crisp, moon and cloud-free night.
Here's just over 3 hours of stacked 30 second exposures of the Iris Nebula and insterstellar clouds in Cepheus

Haven't seen this thread before. The photos are excellent. Please could you explain what flats, biases and darks are? I'm not a photographer (y)
 
Last night I managed to capture nearly 5 hours worth of data on the Heart Nebula, in Cassiopeia.

You should be hunting UFOs and Aliens, because, we all want the whole truth. Bloody government isn't telling us, they're hiding all the secret UFO's and Alien's.
