I would be most interested to hear what you think of your brew once it's ready for use, I may have a go myself. In case anyone was vaguely interested here's the ingredients list of my current concoction. I was inspired by another list taken from a lengthy thread in a USA based forum. Having had a good look round there are countless variations on numerous forums and in loads of articles on the net. No two are the same, this one simply happens to include stuff that took my fancy and was easily obtained and that either smell nice or sound like they'll smell nice. There's no science or logic in it at all and it could be a disaster - but it smells nice at the moment, albeit it's rather cloudy.
3 fl. ozs Dark Rum
3 fl. ozs Vodka
3 fl. ozs Witch Hazel
20 peppercorns
20 juniper berries
4 pieces of dried star anise
15 grams fresh peeled and sliced ginger
1 cinnamon stick, broke in half
1 tablespoon crushed coriander seeds
40 drops Bay EO
30 drops Lime EO
12 drops orange EO
12 drops lemon EO
12 drops clove EO
12 drops Tea Tree oil
1 teabag ( Sainsbury's Earl Grey)
zest of one orange
zest of one lemon
1 whole vanilla pod, cut into 4
Glycerin to be added later, after straining, probably.
'Fraid for you and I Bay Rum is a bit like most Vetivers Stan, nice but transitory. As the Seekers sang back in the sixties, " But the joys of love are fleeting " ...

It was the soap. Best check the OSP site for availability of the soap, the last time I looked the tonic wasn't even listed.Re. the return of OSP BR... is that the shaving soap? or is there a Bay Rum after-shave or balm too?
As supplies of OSP (well recommended on here),...have ceased, can anyone recommend suitable alternatives,.puck, cream or post shave/cologne?
Thanks in advance.
Bay Rum is something I've never tried or indeed sniffed. Suggest me a good soap to start with and what should it smell like?
Thanks
Hi Stan,...And, as also mentioned, many of the Bay Rums that are available in the US are less so here and I do believe Kramperts is one that I've not been able to see advertised in the UK. If anyone has knowledge of a UK supplier I'd like to know so that I might try it.
