Layrite No. 9 - bloody marvellous and for a bargain, I’ll echo the three Benjamin’s ones. I would love to try the D R Harris one day given @Pedigree ’s report above.

Fine is coming out with a new bay rum AS soon so they have said. I generally don't use bay rum as most have the post app life span of a wounded gazelle on the African savannah. I will most likely buy the Fine one when available as I readily support them due to their superb AS's & colognes.

Of the British Bay Rums, I'd rank the following in order of favorite to least favorite.
1. DR Harris
2. Geo F Trumper
3. Taylor of Old Bond Street

There's nothing like some vintage Sunburyboy's Bay Rum. I've still got half a bottle somewhere.

I was not impressed with the TOBS bay rum. I don't think I have tried the Trumpers.

Trumpers has a stronger, more linear scent. But neither are as good as the DR Harris which is absolutely divine.

I can't recall if I bought either the Vines or Jack Dean/Pashana versions. I did not like the sniff I took of the Boot's hair tonic in store.

I came close to getting the Boots one until I saw hair tonic and thought hmm, is this the right stuff? By the time I found out it is what people here have recommended, I had a already bought Benjies blue. I like it, Mrs less so, so I doubt I'll be laying in stocks of bay rum soap. I'll just enjoy my rasta splash when she's not here!
