Do you like Proraso soap in the plastic dish? If so, La Barbiera are selling pots for £1 that are described as "damaged" Link

I received red and white pots today and they are perfect. I would say brand new. Total bargains. As always, great service from La Barbiera (y)
Excellent - thanks. I recommend the Labarbiera set of 4 shaving soap blocks for £8.99

Red and White soap bowl - there is no damage, just scuffed, they've been rattling around a box over the Atlantic and so have soap on inside of lid. Perfectly usable.

Proraso 500ml Bladder - these are known to be weak anyway, but having been presumably dropped out a Boeing plane at 10000ft, they have split. If you decanted into another container or squeezed out of the new hole, you'd be grand to use them.

Bargain for shaving are an Amazon in USA cheap travel brush that is https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DL9RBKD3? that is from China where you do have to wait on the shipping but if you can get around that. The travel brush for what you get, unbleached most likely domestic boar (potbelly pig) given it is softer then that is a smaller more concentrated knot so the brush is not big, and it is not painted slightly rough aluminum like most, this is with at most a clear coat to keep the shine down so you do not need to worry about paint chipping off or where most of the other travel type in China of same use synthetic for the bush that the bristles tend either be at this price range bristles so they are their shorter bristles to stay stiff or not stiff enough if full length as in both cases they used cheaper picture painting style bristle not a stiffer brush makeup bristle or for bigger painting like varnish.

20% off sitewide at Castle Forbes for the next few days. Very tempting!
'To celebrate Burns Night this year, we are offering 20% off all our products this weekend. Offer ends at midnight on Monday 26th January.'

Thanks for the heads up. Ordered a couple of pots myself and like you found them to be near perfect. Ordered a few extra bits too including a couple of Proraso brushes. With 3 or more items there was an additional 10% reduction, so £4.50 for a quality boar brush and 90p for more than acceptable soap. I'll end up sharing half of this with my son.

La Barbiera even sell an acceptable Lord DE razor with 5 blades for £3.79. I've not bought this but it shows that it is possible to get all the essentials to start DE shaving for less than £10 plus a couple of quid for P&P. Sure you can get more exotic kit, but for a prospective wet shaver on a budget you can't get much more of a bargain than that. It might cost more for a packet of disposables and a can of gunk.

My parcel from Labarbiera arrived yesterday.

They sent 6 Proraso "damaged" white tubs for £5. This was alongside my original order.

No evidence of any damage whatsoever, perfectly good products.

Along with my 3 TFS almond tubs and 3 proraso red 175m tubes, I am sorted for a few years. (yeah, right!!)

Ciao! I ordered this GEM razor brand Kampfe from China. It could be another razor that, if it doesn't work and I'll give to my brother or I'll like it and be thrilled with it. I'll try the GEM blades from the Treet brand, they're the only ones I could find available in a store here in Italy.

To be a bargain you'll need to state the price and tell us where to buy it.

I have one ... it's really good! Lightweight balances very nicely, probably more so than the heavier stainless Yaqi Aileron. Blade gap is 1.10mm according to the maker but it doesn't feel like it. It feels perfectly pitched and very much akin to the shave from the GEM Featherweight/Heavy Flat Top.

In any case, from what I understand, with GEM razors it is important not to apply too much pressure and to move the razor slowly across the face. I will gradually have to get the hang of it.

King C Gillette DE razor + 5 blades is reduced to £9.99 in Amazons Spring sale - sold direct via Amazon too, so not a fake. I am really tempted to buy one as a spare, as it really is a good quality R89 clone.

Also, Sainsburys bricks and mortar stores seem to be clearing out King C Gillette products, so things like Beard and face wash, Beard oil and electric trimmer etc are on sale and very heavily discounted to clear. No KCG razors or blades to be seen tho
