Atkinsons Deluxe shaving cream

Hiya,

Any thoughts on this shaving cream? Seems like it's worth a try, with a scent based on their 24 Old Bond Street frag that sounds appealing. Can't find any reviews besides this one and no idea when it was discontinued.
Thanks,

Martin

I've seen people selling like 10ml sachets of this on ebay. I'm definitely intrigued!!! Tell us how it turns out!!! Fingers crossed for you!!!

Ok, first shave thoughts about this product:

First is the very nice packaging. Tub box is sealed in plastic wrap and the tub itself is quite heavy duty, also sealed, and classy looking with a matte finish. Overall, it shows a (hopefully) quality product inside. There's 200ml which is a lot, and it's a little on the firm side. Not dried out but just a bit denser than many other creams.

Lathered up using my scuttle which worked great after adding a small amount of hot water to the cream to let it dissolve for easy brush soak up. I always face lather, only because it's the best technique.. Results were fine, with a nice lather created easily. Post shave was more than good.

Performance was very nice with quite good slip and cushion and might even improve after a few more tweaks but maybe not. Anyway, the cream worked well even after only one use. Keep in mind my thoughts may change after 3-4 uses but so far I'm very pleased with Atkinsons.

Scent wise, it's gonna be an individual thing. It's based on the Atkinsons 24 Old Bond Street frag and is medium strength. I personally like it but that's me. No idea if it's the same exact scent as the EdT. I can say this reminds me of arko............hah, I'm kidding!

Not able to find out when it started and then became extinct and really not much info to be found in general. I know it's one I hadn't heard of, which is strange. Oh, I do know it was made in Parma Italy

Price wise it looks to have been sorta expensive retail, going for around $45-50 for 200ml. Gotta be a lot of shaves in that thing though.

For a blind buy I'm ecstatic, seeing as how things often don't work out well.

Hiya,

Four shaves down and some final thoughts on this very pleasant cream. Easy to lather with nice cushion and very good slip. Post shave is quite good with no after shave balm necessary. Scent is a classy one on the milder side and luckily it suits my nose fine.

Very large heavy duty sealed tub....best all around packaging I've seen. Only bad part is the stuff being extinct from what I can see. Yeah, there's that and it's not well known to most people. Usta be expensive like Pens or CF.

Definitely one to try if the price is right. Full retail would take some serious thought.

These were purchased from a US vendor who told me they were acquired from Atkinsons, whatever that means.
