As i mentioned in my post, i have a fondness for parker razors, not because they are cheap, because i find them to be excellent razors..i understand why your dad loves the 96R...The 94R which i've just bought, hopefully will be a good replacement for my gone, but not forgotten 22R (gunmetal finish), which will go nicely with the rest of my Parker DE razor collection....nice looking razor I had a parker 96r which was great really well built and only £20 I gave it to my dad he loves it I have been thinking about getting another
if I do get another one I think it will be the 87r looks cool and Id like to have another butterfly opening razor in my collection I have a 1962 Gillette slim adjustable 007 razor but its not nice and shiny like that one would be :0)As i mentioned in my post, i have a fondness for parker razors, not because they are cheap, because i find them to be excellent razors..i understand why your dad loves the 96R...The 94R which i've just bought, hopefully will be a good replacement for my gone, but not forgotten 22R (gunmetal finish), which will go nicely with the rest of my Parker DE razor collection....
Which consists of : Parker 24C (Open Comb) superb razor, Parker 92R, (TTO) similar to the 96R, 98R,(3 piece)(99R (TTO barberpole ) and soon to be added newly purchased 94R..i find all the parker razor i've got to be really well made, mid-aggressive, a nice weight to all of them, perform well with either aggressive or non aggressive blades..beautifully looking and a great value for money,a great all round DE razor..
They are probably not everyones cup of tea, but IMHO they stand up with some of "top range"ridiculously priced DE razors..at the end of the day, if a razor gives yousublime shaves, which parkers razors do for me, then why should i buy a top of the range DE razor at 10 x the cost of the humble Parker Range..An egg is a egg, free-range battery or what ever eggit is,they all do the say thing. .after that you are just getting sucked up by consumerism.IMHO.Regards.
A beautiful looking razor..has a Gillette Aristocrat/Super speed look to it.,you can't beat the old classics...built to last and superb quality..i also like butterfly opening razors, i have a lovely 1971 Gillette slim twist, giving to me by my dads friend, that still delivers a superb shave. Quality lasts,if treated with respect.if I do get another one I think it will be the 87r looks cool and Id like to have another butterfly opening razor in my collection I have a 1962 Gillette slim adjustable 007 razor but its not nice and shiny like that one would be :0)
