That's a razor I've been curious about for a long time. As much as I adore my Gillette Tech (ball end handle), I always get a patchy shave even when using a Feather blade. Given my predicament, would the Star Razor provide a more even shave with a Feather blade? I appreciate its a YMMV thing...Have a look out for the Star safety razor, its similar to a Tech but heavier and gives a much closer shave.

I respect your point, but BBS is too stressful for my skin. So I'm strictly a DFS shaver. Of the patchy parts of my beard when shaving with the Tech (after two passes), I've tried on occasion to go ATG, but that effort is simply not worth the reward. I have other combinations where DFS is doable in two passes and a bit of touch-up (no ATG). However I have a lot of sentiment for my Techs. My old boy had one, and I intend to gift them to my lad when he's old enough to shave. That's an issue with technique & not the fault of the Tech. However, to be fair you will need to go ATG with a Tech in order to get a BBS shave if that is indeed your goal.
