Hi and welcome to TSR!
There's some truly horrendous razors out there but these tend to be cheap Chinese ones. You already own some good razors.
My advice would be to perfect your technique first. I didn't follow this advice and it's highly likely you won't either. If you do have your heart set on a new razor, @Salt lane runner has a RazoRock Game Changer 0.84 for sale for £40 delivered which is a fantastic stainless steel razor that will outlast you.
Afternoon all,
So I recently discovered DE razors just before Christmas after shaving with cartridges for the last 19 years. What a mistake that was! I only really shave 3 times a week (not because the hair doesn't grow, just by choice. I have sensitive skin). I've always been an advocate of men's grooming, but this has added a whole new level to it.
I already have a Merkur 23C (long handle), a MÜHLE R41 and 2 razors that were gifted to me which I have no clue what they are. I'm looking at buying a DE89 from Edwin Jagger next and asking for a OneBlade for my birthday. My goal for this year is to purchase a Gillette fatboy. I'll have to put some money away each month as I don't have a lot of expendable cash. It's an absolute rabbit hole this game, but at least when you are buying something it has a practical use.
My starter for 10 question is, do the different brands of razor and types ACTUALLY make a difference to the shave or is most of it technique? I've heard differing views.
Looking forward to getting to know some of you and I hate you all in advance for continuing to lead me down the DE razor rabbit hole!
