Thanks for the heads up, pleased you didn't get fleeced. P.Just a heads up to watch your credit card statements closely if buying from China. I have bought from Ali Express a few times and never had any problems but two weeks ago I had to input my new Amex card details. Lo and behold 9 days later I get a fraud warning from Amex asking if I recognise these two transactions in CYN (Chinese Yuan). The Ali Express transactions always say 'Ali Express Singapore' on my statement and are in my chosen currency. The dodgy ones were in CYN and came up as YIDUAN NAN JING SHI and NOWDAYSMART.COM. Amex sorted it all out quickly as always but I had to cancel the card and take the time to call them so it is a pain.
Yes, I am of the same mind now and won't be using them again. If they accepted Paypal it would be easier.I had no trouble with Ali for a couple of years, then my credit card was 'used' in China. No, it wasn't me. $640+ for air fares.
New CC, bank refunded the fraudulent amount.
New CC, used it at Ali...and that was the only use...fraudulent use again in China. Bank refunded the plunder! Only $90+ this time.
New CC...have not been back to Ali since.
I did use the Ali live chat and expressed my concerns. Told them that either they had been hacked, or a staff member was dodgy.
Ali said 'thank you', and....obviously nothing has changed.
I am not going to shop at Ali again. Too dodgy now. I've been 'bitten' twice now, and I won't give the little sods a 3rd go at me.
It's an option but it's a pain for me to organise one and it's not really the point. They have a problem in their business that they need to resolve. Why not a prepaid CC?

I agree, nobody wants to give their credit card info to a known thief, if they want peoples business they need to make it safe for their customers. It's an option but it's a pain for me to organise one and it's not really the point. They have a problem in their business that they need to resolve.
