1930’s Bristow bastard![]()
Bristow's Lanolin
Just as Fat February drew to a close and I land on a unicorn.
... which, naturally, I immediately test-lathered and it pulled up a gorgeous bulb of lather that only really vintage can do. Lovely age-matured crustiness like a good cheese! Yeah, that came straight off washing the soap before test-lathering.
Much thanks to @NotTheStig for the prod

Today, the latest addition to my addiction..I mean collection arrived.
A what looks to be pretty much mint condition flare tip with case, sealed 6 blue blade dispenser and the original paper Regular tag.
I absolutely love the performance of the flare tip super speed after using the TV special version for a while now, it's up there as a favourite as they're amazingly efficient shavers, so being able to add a set in this condition to the collection is great.
As with all my razors, it will be used and maintained but the dispenser will be left untouched as that 70 year old cellophane must be pretty fragile at this point.
Thanks!cool score.enjoy.![]()
Yeah I got very lucky.Really nice to still have the 'Regular' card with it @Ghostbuster
Yeah I got very lucky.
I don't see those very often outside of enthusiastic collectors is the way I think of myself.....
You're hurting the original Captain's Choice feelings and their business for a cheapskate stealing copyright bowl.View attachment 145563
A nicer, albeit more breakable, shaving bowl than the cheapo Yaqi collapsible one![]()
