Acquisitions June....

Yep! That ... @markamonaghan

What I can add is that the potentially negative review that it smells like Dracula's coffin are both correct and incorrect. It is not musty. It is plush and opulent ... and somehow exotic. Very cleverly done. I think Trumpers do samples? Whatever you do buy DO NOT buy the shave soap as it's not fit for purpose. The cream carries the scent well and works as expected. I have the EDT and a newer bottle of the EDT. I think the EDP came after I bought those.
After my recent adventures with mmgp I'm not allowed any more creams or soaps... I was in trumpers a couple of weeks ago and bought a paisley shower gel and roll on... note to self leave their coral skin lotion alone... (as I have two bottles still).

Love to know what your rocking?
Just sitting in my favourite, snacking rocking chair.

Someone… possibly someone on here… once described it as smelling like a Goth in a funeral home. Hard to describe, but an amazing scent.

I love the Boar knot in my Zenith B03-A26. It is well broken in and is soft as a marshmallow cloud for face lathering.
But I did not care so much for the aluminum handle it was set in.

I also love my LE TSR brush handle that Highlander Brushes made a couple years back, so it was a no brainer to get the Zenith Boar sent over to Giles for a new handle, similar to the dimensions of the TSR LE.
I now have the 26mm Zenith Boar Knot, set at a loft of 53mm, housed in a Lead Wood Base with Aged Ivory Resin for the top.

Took a punt on this scruffy looking thing on the Bay and it turned up today.
Bunged up solid with a blade still in it.

After a soak in an Oxy powder hot water bath which i let fizz away for about 10 mins while i cleaned the box with dish washing soap.
The soak loosened things up enough to get the blade out, then another rest in the bath. After a good rinse then a soft toothbrush and dish washer soap i cleaned up the out side, the mechanism was still stiff and the quarter turn was not working as it should therefore i gave another very hot bath soak, no soap or powder, just gently working each part until it eventually began to free up.
A quick polish and a good old oiling down the centre post, in all the winding mechs, as soon as you like every thing was running as it should.

Turns out to be a very nice fully operational "J - 1" 1964 Jan - Mar.

Do you find the boar thirsty and needing a fair bit of reloading ? I have a board that does. Just wondered.

It was a pleasure making it Les. If anyone wondered about the inside of the Zenith handle it's not fully made of aluminium. It's just a thin sheet of aluminium over the plastic body. And not a straight forward knot removal as from Omega brushes.

I think they make the knot in the brush, instead of dropping in a pre-made knot, you have to re-shape the glue base to re-use it.

Great job Gile!! Do you repair or change knots if need be? Always handy to know..... and are you UK based?
