iv used this soap for over 30 years in fact at one time the only place i could get it was the QVC shopping channel.
I still use it today,
Definitely not what it once was but still great soap

After reflection and another sniff this L’Occitane soap smells like Shulton Old Spice. I wish I could get some more information on it.

Gemini tells me it's a ... "sweet Provençal lavender and wild rosemary scent profile with supporting accents of chamomile and soft hints of resinous Mediterranean pine or cedar". Very much Man's Shaving Soap Scent. You said first sniff put you in mind of Mitchell's - pretty much bob-on.

It’s got more of an OS smell to it when lathered but maybe it’s just the age of the soap

Could well be the resinous scent ... likely benzoin. It can last a long time and likely outlived the herbals.

Hell, you're way past that almost meaningless to you milestone! I'm thinking what's left over from your previous acquisitions would be plenty for any enthusiastic hobbyist to finish in his lifetime as well. I'd bet you could even supply their kids to use a buncha stuff kindly old 'Grampy Carl' coveted in his day.
