Pocket Edition.
Completed it, mate.

Recently I posted that I'd scored a nice, incomplete scroll handle Gillette ABC Pocket edition No. 500 set.
Well, I managed to track down the striker blade bank to complete the set.

When it arrived today, there were a couple of bonuses inside.

An old type 3 hole style DE blade.
I don't want to break the seal on the wax paper just for a pic but the blade reads Watts Service blade, stainless steel, made in Sheffield, Patent No 306 703

Then this other thing which is some sort of blade holder.
Edit: I've been informed that this holders purpose is so that a 3 hole DE blade can be held and used in a SE stopper device.
Like the one in the ever ready/GEM streamline stopper set.

More of my favourites below.

I'm struggling with the KGC own brand and BIC chromes a little, so decided to get more of what gets me a great shave.

I'll shelve the ones I'm struggling with until my technique improves / hope my incoming new razor may work better with them. I wish I hadn't made any bulk purchases (400x of each type) before I really knew what I was doing, but it's hard to not be impulsive when you're new to something and enthusiastic about it.

Just remembered, was in Brighton last week (happened to be pride, I had no idea until I got there).

Was having a pint outside a pub; lo and behold across the road happened to be a Taylor of Old Bond Street shop, so had to drop in and I grabbed this:

Anyone used this brand / particular cream? I've not used a cream to shave with before, everything I have is a croap afaik.

I don't use creams that frequently but have always found TOBS creams really good. That tobacco leaf is my favourite scent. I grew up not that far from the shop you mention by North Laine. Enjoy! They're a bit cheeky as they're actually not a TOBS shop but they are on Bond St, Brighton hence clever use of the name. They sell cigars and pocket knives as well as a range of shaving gear

Yes, they have lots of cool stuff in there and the chap was very nice. I had to get out of there before I got silly with purchases!

Agree the smell is very nice. Might use it for my next shave.

This time with a Made in England right hand stamped numeral flare tip super speed.

The case is almost identical to its US counterpart aside from a slightly lighter base colour and a simple made in England relief on the underside.

The razor itself has slightly brighter plating, feels a little more weighty and has tighter build tolerances.

The blade gap is reportedly 0.74mm vs the US 0.64mm so It'll be interesting to see if there's a noticeable difference in the shave.

The Brit Red tip has a larger exposure/gap than the U.S version also..
