Cheers guys yeah it was fun and a pain in the a** all at the same time to make, but hopefully its worth it in a gloriously over the top way! Yeah it's pricey but it reflects the many many hours work,

I need more honing practise before buying a smiling blade a pity as 7/8 and wider blades in this design look really tempting.

I have found a narrower stone easier for sharpening smiling blades. One you get the edge they are lovely to shave with.

Yeah I much prefer a smiling blade, the way I see it is that none of our faces are flat they all have curves in and out, and the smilers just seem to accommodate this, and the honing/stropping of them is relatively easy with a bit of practice.
