A proper lathering bowl?

At the moment when I want to bowl lather, I use an empty sowp container.
For those who love lathering bowls, would I get superior lather using one? I think I'd want a really stylish one that would give me great pleasure to use .

Get the original Captain’s Choice ceramic lather bowl, don’t get the stupid clonely cheating copy lather bowl.

Trust me, the original Captain’s Choice ceramic lather bowl looks bloody fantastic and stylish in your den. I’ve got two in my den.

Goto the original website.

@Roy I’ve only been around here a short while, so wouldn’t consider myself qualified to offer any insights or comments on the question you posed.

I succumbed in a moment of weakness when I saw a Captains Choice Obsidian Copper shaving bowl for sale on the Bay. For some dumb reason my finger was inexplicably drawn to the buy it now button and I’ve been using it for a week or so, I try to hide it from the cat, as he thinks he’s going to get his chow with full table cloth and waiter service with it.
It’s a bit daft when you consider I’m a face latherer BUT, I enjoy the process of mixing up a thick creamy base in the cat bowl and using that as the starter mix to make more on my face. Just from my own experience, I can say I don’t have buyers remorse - though the credit card bill hasn’t arrived as yet, so only time will tell.
The good thing about the bowl, is that it sits nicely in my sink of hot water and keeps the contents nice and warm as I’m having my shave.
I guess I should have prefaced this by saying my shaving journey started closer to 50 years ago, so I’m at a stage where if I want to try something new in this recently found enjoyable DE shaving experience, then I’m going to just go for it.
Good luck with your deliberations.

I find a proper bowl does work better in that it's easier to use and get the lather to where i want, faster.

I like the DS cosmetic plastic bowl at home and the Yaqi collapsible silicone bowl with ridges for travel.

The Yaqi plastic bowl is also great but i prefer the matte finish on the DS cosmetic bowl.

glad to see your gentle perkiness again!

I used to used this antique 1850 Indian brass pan because it kept the lather warm and is unbreakable; now I've gone back to face lathering with no brush.
