A Kid for Two Farthings

Anyone seen this great film? Been shown a few times on TV in recent months. Made in 1955, it has a truly fantastic cast including Celia Johnson, Irene Handl, young versions of Sid James and Barbara Windsor (though she was not credited) and the gorgeous Diana Dors in her prime! I believe it's available on DVD, so if you enjoy the older film, it's well worth taking a look!

I thought this was a BST offer. My scullery maid has just died of smallpox so I'm looking to buy a kid for two farthings.

Anyone got a spare orphan for sale?

I'll add it to my list of pending purchases:

That's just what you are telling everyone. She's really gone to the workhouse heavy with your child, poor thing. :(

Sir, you will find her grave in my churchyard. I conducted the funeral myself. Unless you can substantiate your allegations I must insist you retract and withdraw. Otherwise I shall have no other option than to challenge you to a dual at a time and place of your choosing.

I remain, sir -

faithfully yours

The Reverend Oliver Harrison MA
