3one6 ordered

Confession time! I was somewhat disgruntled that this debuted in the USA rather than its homeland, and have never owned any razor by EJ, ever. When it came on sale at EJ, and I looked at it more carefully, I was struck by the looks of the thing; plus the US reviews seemed pretty good.

I had a major change of heart, or Damascene Conversion, and ordered one of the blue-handled model, reasoning that I have numerous stainless handles if I want to try that combination.

It arrived yesterday, and, having got through the excellent and well-considered packaging, possibly the prettiest DE razor I now own emerged. The engraved collar and cap are excellent, and the quality of the head is likewise remarkably good. Other MIM heads I have are a bit "blurry" in their finish, and don't have the crispness of machined CNC stainless. This is the exception.

I stuck a Feather (one I already had) in it this morning, and I can report that it shaves as well as it looks. There's a lot of audible feedback, and, with the lighter aluminium handle, it's important not to compensate with excess pressure. However, the splash bit revealed a bit of smarting, but I think that's down to using this blade. I'll be experimenting with others, for sure.

The knockout with this is the price which, to put it mildly, is extraordinarily competitive for something of this very high quality. Being of the generation which was endlessly exhorted by various Governments to "Be British, Buy British", it's also a pleasant feeling to be doing just that, again.

Great overview and I am so glad you got a good shave. I agree that the audible feedback is good with this razor.

Enjoy and may I personally welcome you to the EJ family!

I completely agree. They're beautifully made and I'm all for supporting a British company.
