Vintage or Modern?
Both.
Vintage or Modern?
Hmmmmmm.
Vintage.... Gillette Slim Adjustable.
Modern.... Rockwell 6s.
I got...What do you use now?
I got
Gillette Fatboy 1960
Rockwell 6S
Feather AS2D
Feather WS1DS
Coming in the post ... The Christopher Bradley
I got...
a 1920's Gillette 3 piece open comb ball end
A 1970's Gillette slim twist (white tapered)
A New Wilkinson Sword Classic.
And finally A Journeyman from shaving shack.
Well I never.... How very dare you.... Lol....On tonight's episode of hoarders: Where have all the Gillette Adjustables Gone?!
So your saying the Gillette Old is the best? You've got a Gillette OLD, you don't need anything else. Every DE made after that was nothing more than a failed attempt to improve upon it. They make better blades now, but not better razors.
So your saying the Gillette Old is the best?
But I just like the look of the Slim Adjustable... And I think 5 razors would look better than 4... Don't you think.... (tee hee hee)
I'm looking out for a nice Feather WS2DS to go with my 1DS
I have a Slim on BST here. Average condition with a little plating loss but works fine, so not expensive.
If what you want is good condition old Gillettes to buy cheap and sell for a profit then a shaving forum isn't going to help much. People here know too much, and if they know where bargains are they're likely to protect their sources. The BST almost always offers very fair prices, but very rarely bargains. If you just want a single razor and are not sure which one, then stick around and read up on the threads.
with the internet and auction sites, anyone who comes across "stuff", including collectable razors, that he or she wants to make some money on, can quite easily see what it is selling for, and where. I think that's why, on the rare occasions I have seen quality vintage razors for sale at car boots, charity shops etc., they aren't "ten bob bargains".
