I had seen a few mixed reviews of Easy Tiger, and didn't know where to expect my findings to sit in comparison to others. Some were disappointed, others ecstatic. Upon opening the can, I got some subtle savoury notes in the aroma, and a bit of hop. Upon tasting, the savoury came first, and it's a savoury I could liken to sweet cooked onion if that makes sense. It's a very pleasant taste mark my words. Following that is a medium level of bitterness that works nicely with its predecesor, the savoury note. And to bring up the rear, is a pleasant sweetness to finish it all off nicely. Oddly, the more you drink, the more you notice the sweetness, and for me that brings a pleasant change to the DIPA scene, for many of them are huge juice bombs, and this to me is the polar opposite. Sure it is still quite boozy, but it offers the different face of the same DIPA coin, to give you something different to reach for when you want a DIPA, but are fancying something of a change.
I like it a lot.
