Hi Joe,
I also have an AS-D2 so can happily give you my views on it vs the Outlaw. In my opinion, the Feather is a beautiful, well engineered tool but I have never been able to get a really great shave from it in the 5 or so years I've owned it. Perfectly acceptable shaves yes but nothing to write home about. Some guys seem to love the AS-D2 but for me £170 seems very expensive for a lovely to look at razor which in my case is used only occasionally.
On the other hand, the Outlaw worked straight out of the box for me and I couldn't be more pleased. One pass and I'm smooth enough to face the day. Two passes and I'm smooth as can be. It's certainly more aggressive than the feather, but what isn't?
In terms of aggression, I'd say it is on a par with my Muhle Rocca R95 V4 (which I also love) but with less blade feel. I've owned the Outlaw for about a month now, had
maybe 15 great close shaves and not a single nick or weeper.
As ever YMMV but for me the Outlaw pips the other razors I own and I'd recommend it to anyone.
I hope it helps.
