Tried these blades for the first time this week. Absolutely loved them, smoothest shave ever - ordered 100 straight away!
I think if you were to try it with a less aggressive razor you might change your opinion of these blades.
I also need a very sharp blade with the R41....
You're one of a very, very few.Yep, i am in complete agreement with you there, i did find them to fine in my ES Braveheart, and after trying about nine different brands of blade i have decided to stick with Feathers across the board now, they just seem to suit me regardless of which razor i put them in.

This does happen sometimes with Voskhod blades, the Teflon coating, makes the blade feel "dull" on the first shave, the next shave is normally noticeably better, this happens with chrome coated blades too..i normally get 3-4 good shaves from one blade...You could try "Hand Stropping" a fresh blade before using it, to take any hidden burrs or imaginary ones from the blade edges..The results as you say, are always good with a little bit of patience.I had my first try of a Voskhod earlier. The blade seemed sort-of blunt, certainly a very "dull" shave, and I even had to do a 4th pass which is unheard of... But the end result was extremely smooth with no irritation. I could see me going for these if I wanted a reliable, close, thoughtless shave - maybe one for hangovers or a day I absolutely couldn't risk any nicks.
I'll work my way through the tuck for sure, nothing at all to put me off as the end result was great.
Just took a Gillette Silver Silver Blue out of my razor after trying it in both a Ming Shi and an Edwin Jagger. Got a very close shave but uncomfortable. Funnily enough a feather works great in both for me. Maybe it was a bad Gillette Silver Blue, but it has put me off.I just had my first shave with a Voskhod blade in a Muhle R41, what an unbelievably awful experience it was for me, absolute agony and terrible to boot. In the end i gave up trying to get a decent shave out of it and stuck in a Gillette silver blue to do a fourth pass.
Now looking around the internet these blades seem quite highly regarded, so what the hell happened for me? I've only used four different types of blade so far, Personna (okay but not great), Feather (fantastic), Gillette silver blue (on par with a feather but slightly longer lasting) and the Voskhod (enough said already!).
Does anyone reckon it may be worth persavering and trying them again? maybe a duff blade? or just chalk it up to not for me and move on?
