Straight Razor Shave of the Day

John Rawson 6/8 - This was my first successful (I think) hone of a smiling wedge, I didn't find it easy and it took two attempts. Quite a bit more difficult than a shorter straight edge. I finished it off with a diamond pasted paddle strop, which I think was a mistake, although very sharp it was a bit harsh..

Wed 7 SR SOTD
Soap RazoRock Mudder Focker
Brush Yaqi 26mm Lucky Dice Tuxedo
Razor Friedr. Herder Abr. Sohn 77
Post & Aftershaves Ice Water + Alum + Stirling Witchhazel MitA + Hyaluronic + TGS Abysso
Super nice soap. Really love this unique scent plus the lather is creamy and slick too.
Shave with the razor was enjoyable but still unable to achieve good efficiency. 3passes for a sas result and just a tiny red dot.
Seems like requires more practice or is it the edge?

Thu 8 SR SOTD
Soap Wholly Kaw Pompelmo
Brush Zenith 28mm Scrubby B14 Boar
Razor Henkels & Friodur 472
Post & Aftershaves Ice Water + Stirling Witchhazel Lemon Chill + Hyaluronic + Reuzel Wood & Spice
Really good quality soap. The scent is mildly pleasant but the lather is nicely creamy and good slickness!
This shave with the razor...the edge felt more comfortable compared to the previous 2. I can feel it's sharp but yet...not harsh, just very comfy. This shave I learn to stroke longer rather than short especially atg under the jawline and neck. The result was smoother cutting rather than skippy...very nice. Managed 3passes without issues for better than yesterday's results but still mostly sas and some areas ccs. Perhaps the edge is not sharp enough? My skills? Really interesting questions.
This Reuzel AS is one of my best...very soothing and smells great!

Hi, not sure if it's the edge or your technique. If it's been honed recently then I'd put it down to technique which gradually improves..

Hey, thanks for your comment. The razor has just been on jnats and it's on the 2nd shave...I do believe it's my technique more than anything else...

Lovely shave with the Koraat 14 tonight keeping it neutral with the soap scent and haven’t used the Cade in a while so gave it a run out..featuring the @BartsBalm sample E this stuff is just so protective will certainly be picking some up when the new scents have been released for sale, feeling wonderfully nourished and super smooth6E5CF781-72E3-4D88-A016-C069C6CA76B7.jpeg

Very nice rich, creamy and slick lather from the soap. The scent is good too...perhaps just a tad below medium.
Shave with this razor in 3passes was quite enjoyable & without issues. Smooth, comfortable, and easy. Somehow, this razor feels better & yielded the best result between the other 3 SR in my rotation now...hmmm :unsure:
