Rooney Stubby 3 Porcelain Finest (26/54)
Chicago shaving soap (vintage)
Paradigm 17-4/Triad Aristocrat Brass
Wilkinson Sword 'New' (10)
Brooks Brothers aftershave

The soap really required a lot of work again to get a good lather. Regardless of the sales/business ethics controversies, the 17-4 is still the smoothest razor I have ever used.

Good evening you fine bunch.

Soap - OSP Sandalwood
Brush - Simpson T3
Razor - Progress (4) (2)
Blade - Gillette 7 O’clock Sharpedge #2
Post - Boots Freshwood
Splash - OSP Sandalwood

First time with the T3 and I really enjoyed using it, whipped up a great lather with the OSP but I really don’t get the Sandalwood in mine, neither from the tub or when lathered.
Finished off with the brilliant Boots balm and a good splash of the OSP splash.
A great shave this evening

Have a great weekend gents, stay safe.

I've always enjoyed the lowly Gillette 365 and tonight was no exception ...

To my mind, the 365 is Gillette India's simple, no-frills, good, honest stainless blade; even the GWS has pretentions, thinking itself King of the Slums. It's basic. That said, my tuck is 13 Rs (for 5) compared to 24 Rs for a pack of 10 Gillette 7 O'Clock PermaSharp and 25 Rs for a pack of 10 Gillette Wilkinson Sword! Yes, 26 Rs (for 10) equivalent if you run out of fingers!

Hmmm ...

Packed in tucks of 5 I think indicates that the 365 is destined for the home shaver. It is still pretty low-brow and delivers a sharp and capable shave, and while I wouldn't say it's not smooth, more, it's not raw. Sharpness is akin to the Gillette 7 O'Clock PermaSharp or the various Super Stainless from SuperMax, but it's by no means as smooth as either class of blade.

If you hanker after a carbon-like shave from a stainless blade and can't quite handle the Shark Stainless, then this blade might well be the one for you.

Off the first shave, I can't quite give it an 8/10 where I've rated the Gillette 7 O'Clock PermaSharp and the majority of the various Super Stainless from SuperMax, nor quite give it a 7.9 which is what I've rated the very pedestrian Vidyut/SuperMax Economy Stainless. So, 7.8 for now.

I'll give it another run tomorrow, as second uses often produce a depth of character ...

Pre-shave:
Kiehl's Facial Wash, followed by cold water splash.
Soap: Gentleman's Groom Room - Essence of Scotland Scottish Heather Traditional Shaving Soap.
Brush: Blackland (Signature).
Razor: Muhle Rocca R96
Blade: Bic Chrome (Day 1).
Post: Cold water splash, Floris No 89 EDT, followed by Floris 89 Aftershave.

I had a busy morning at work; skipped a shave, then at 12:00 ish heard of the passing of the Duke of Edinburgh. I had a shave during my lunch hour thinking of events, I was drawn to the Rocca R96 - in part its sombre black finish, and its elegant, clean lines; the Bic Chrome blade, from Greece and the Floris No 89 Edt and Aftershave - the navel link from the association with Ian Flemming.

A 2 pass shave, WTG and XTG - BBS finish with no issues to report. My first run out with the Rocca R96 and a Bic blade - very, very smooth and efficient.

SWMBO is a nurse, and when she came in tonight, my first thought was God, I hope I can have 73 years together with you.

Wishing everyone well, look after yourselves and yours.
