On Friday evening, I lost my dearest friend, after a ten year battle with cancer. I was privileged to be holding his hand as he slipped away. We were inseparable since schoolboys.
He was a passionate wet shaver, but too shy to do much posting.
His Wife asked me if I could shave him on his final day; a great honour that I gladly accepted. Unfortunately, his birth razor was at his home. He had a two week growth, so I needed some blade gap.
The Futur was one of his favourite razors, so I packed it up with a selection of gear and headed to the hospital, where I shaved him, and stayed with him until the end.
Tonight, I reproduce the shave, as a tribute to my dear friend.
Rest easy, my Brother.
+1 on the Sagrada Familia and the TOBSSOTD 24/8/20
Razor- Rockwell 6c (4+2)
Blade- Shark
Bush- Yaqi Sagrada Familia
Cream- TOBS Grapefruit
Post- Barts Grapefruit and Pink Pepper balm
3 passes tonight for a, I have to be honest, very average finish. First and last time using the Shark blade. It just wasn't for me and thats ok, have to try these things to find out.
The shave experience was brilliant, the finish just wasn't very good.
New Yaqi brush...wow. Out of the box earlier I didnt think the knot felt particularly good. Once wet and introduced to cream it was amazing and felt great on my face. I can see why yaqi are a firm favourite in here and I can see me getting some more of these especially given their price.
TOBS great as always and Barts balm rounded off an all Grapefruit theme.
Have a good night one and all.
As bad as a bad shave feels...when you manage to follow it up with an exceptionally good one, everything seems right in the world again+1 on the Sagrada Familia and the TOBS
Also, it sounds like I had a very similar shaving experience yesterday with a Gillette 7'o'clock. The shave was absolutely fine (in my usual EJDE89) using Lea classic cream, but the face-feel afterwards and for the next hour or so was weird...neither smooth nor bristly. Almost like I'd had an overly close shave that didn't feel close. As a result I won't be using 7'o'clocks again.
I was so disappointed that I didn't even post a SOTD.
