Can I have my balls back please?
1st shave with an ER 1912
View attachment 42852
Pre: Wilkos pre shave oil covered with Pears transparent face soap
Brush: Omega 100% Badger 63185
Soap: CR Slater luxury cream
Blade: Personna GEM SS (1)
Razor: ER 1912 (1951)
Post shave: cold water splash, homemade Witch Hazel Lavender/grapefruit/lime/patchouli astringent,
Balm: Nivea Aftershave Balm
Aftershave: JPG Le Male
Today I plucked up the courage to take an unused ER 1912 (garlic slicer) and try to remove the hair from my chinnychinchin.
After advice from forum I decided not to shim the blade, I also decided after a face wash to put the pre shave oil on, then a layer of pears transparent, I used a luxury cream to lather up and had a lovely layer on my face.
Right then, "keep head flat to face". Gently I started in my usual place, just dropping the angle a tiny bit as I competed the first small stroke until I started to cut hair, how did I know, it gives off great sound effects, slowly carrying on using that ever so slight angle from flat, the blade sang throughout the shave and my smile grew. What was I so worried about. I carefully guided the razor around my chin and top lip to finish a WTG pass. Brilliant. Lathered up again for a 2nd pass ATG, using the same care I completed my 2nd pass without issue.
I suppose I could have done with some buffing but decided against it.
Why push it?
Alum block gave evidence of a few marks nothing noticeable though. A splash of my astringent. Skin ok and an acceptable finish.
Nivea Balm finishing off with a good splash of JPG Le Male,
(I now have my manly mojo back thanks to conquering this ER
)
Verdict - I think I am going to get hooked to these little beauties. Worried for no reason.
Have a great evening all.
