Err...maybe a little too much 'razor porn' karma methinks. (Rex Ambassadors will do that to you) ...Ok who told you I was saving up for one?14/07/20
Despite the fact I'm fighting an acne outbreak around my mouth and look like a prepubescent teenager (albeit a very handsome one), I had a great shave. A face feeler finish. I keep forgetting how good P&B soaps are.
Yes - P&B - can we forgive them - for selling soap - years ago - that stank of ammonia? I was unfortunate enough to buy two tubs - that smelled like cat piss - Star Noir principally -. I've never got over it and will not spend money with them again. The Spitfire was rank too - Why do you have acne at your age? Bummer dude. - I.14/07/20

I read about the ammonia soaps - I guess cat's piss wasn't a top note listed on the profile. Fortunately the soaps I've had from them have met their description and no pissy notes among them. I'm surprised you don't like Spitfire - I must admit to being a fan of it myself.Yes - P&B - can we forgive them - for selling soap - years ago - that stank of ammonia? Razor - Leaf - Leaf Shave Co ( on loan )
Blade - Souplex ( 3 half blades )
Soap - Beramotto Neroli - Mondial ( Soft soap )
Brush - Omega 48 boar knot set in yew wood handle
Post - None
I've been blessed over the last couple of months as far as buying and using some great soaps, Fitjar Islands, Signature Soaps, Czech & Speake and now Mondial, used for the first time last night / early this morning.
Just a tiny amount was needed in the bottom of my scuttle and I whipped up the most luxurious silky creamy lather that was as slick as slick could be and with great cushion and a post shave feel that was superb, not only that, the Bergamot and Neroil scent was wonderful.
Needless to say the shave was fantastic and with the Leaf razor fitted with Souplex blades I was left with a BBS finish that is still with me this morning!
Wishing you all a wonderful day.
Untill the next time,
Paul.
I have one on order, it seems on the face of it to be expensive but with the tiny amount needed to create enough lather for a shave it isn't that bad especially for such a wonderful soap.I love the Mondial Soft Soap , the Tobacco Verde is lovely.
I've had P&B Denali (still my favourite soap), Albion, Spitfire and several others and never had the ammonia issue, though I had heard of it. At the time I recall them suggesting that you let the soap air for a while. I tend to transfer my favourites to ceramic pots that are not airtight anyway, so maybe that's a reason for my ammonia-free experience.Yes - P&B - can we forgive them - for selling soap - years ago - that stank of ammonia? Chris...have you tried Tend Skin on it? I know it's mainly for ingrown hairs and their prevention, but it has an drying and antiseptic effect I reckon. Not sure where the acne has come from - it's gathering under my bottom lip. Maybe I'm like Benjamin Button and I'm getting younger?
