I realised that - in retrospect - shaving with candle light - as mentioned in my previous wittering - was a good - if not excellent experience - choosing to try it again. It is so relaxing - I was thinking about why this might be the case. It is the quality of the light? Your average bathroom - the illumination - has all the charm of an operating room - or an abattoir - for that matter - cold and sterile. Candles give warm light - modelling - they flicker - okay you can't see that well what you are doing - but if you are - in my opinion - at least semi-competent - your face doesn't need to be well lit. I found it so very relaxing - historically it makes sense - electric light - is a very recent innovation by humans - the vast majority of shaves - past - will have been conducted by daylight - candle - or lamp - be that - oil - blubber - whatever. I mostly shave at night - before I sleep - this approach I will continue to experiment with. Try it yourself - see what you think. Combine candles with lavender? - I may well be discovered hours later on the den floor - fast asleep. The LPL soap is good for me - some report lathering and drying out problems - not in my case - very good. I left the Semogue a wee bit wetter than usual before using it - that might be the trick. Beautiful scent and the splash is even better.
Almost pissed off shaving this morning in daylight - the perfect time of the year to dig out the MT Black Beer - a superb soap base - in my opinion - a nice dark - herbal - spicy scent - ease of lathering up there - for me - dovetails beautifully with the Myrsol Balsamica after shave. Still totally impressed with the parfum strength Sauvage. I can still smell it 11 hours later - people comment on it - positively - thankfully.
So - job done - two nice shaves - enjoy yours one and all - yours - I.
P.S - no cuss words at all - I'm very fu**ing impressed with myself. Must be the candle light shaving? So - much more mellow? Ha ha - that will be shining fu**ing bright.
