One of the most outstanding qualities I note from the SOTD's is the most wonderful photos which members are posting. I know members really try to present their SOTD's with the most amazing photography, care and attention. A big big plus which I am sure you are all proud of.
Then by accident I found out there used to be an annual calendar at the end of the year from the 'best of the best', which got me thinking why not try again for 2020? Or at least I presume there used to be a physical final product.
First of all though I need to know what sort of interest there might be on resurrecting the calendar and what sort of format should be used to choose the best of the photos.
My own personal thoughts are elect one per week followed by a monthly vote and a hard print calendar at the end of the year. Of course there will be a cost attached with all profits going to the forum's chosen charity. We can discuss these costs etc in the near future as there is a lot of ground to cover before arriving at this point. I would like to think I don't arrive at the end of the year having a big pile of one per day calendars and a loss of financial outlay.
Given it would need to be pretty well finalised by the end of the year I was thinking of a cut off month of around September or October to allow time to get things in to print. Nobody really wants a calendar in April. It would also mean having to go back to around September 2018 to select this years pictures, unless you think the beginning of this year or even a more recent start date would be suffice.
I certainly don't want this to be my project and would love any input from you folk and in return I will try my best to administrate it all. @Boab has very kindly given me some additional tools to help make this possible and I would like to give it my best in return.
Any input very welcome. I will post a few voting threads in the next week so at least I have an idea as to whether this will be worth it.
Edit - Changes the title as it might have been misleading. Of course I am thinking a 2020 calendar here
