@pjgh didnt want to derail the sotd thread, wanted to ask how does that wilkinson sword sticky razor compare to the wilkinson sword flip top de razor?

Chalk and cheese ...

The Sticky is a VERY fine piece of kit easily on a par with the Gillette TTO if not exceeds it. The flip top head is a cheapo, but does pay some homage to the Ken Grange aesthetic of the Sticky.

It's a really good piece of kit and a classic piece of shaving equipment.

yea the sticky sounds like a nice razor seen @Mike Smart praise it too

ive seen the sticky on ebay here and there but not seen the flip top wilkinson sword though

seen that the youtuber paulhfilms seems to have some shaving vids with the flip top razor but havent watched them yet

so usea lea shaving stick, wow what a nice lather really like it but its hardly got any scent barely even mild lol

really enjoying using shaving sticks was wondering whats your favourite shaving stick?

Yeah, the current LEA stick is very good! For a veg-based formula, I'd say you just wouldn't know you were missing anything. Certainly one of my favourites.

I also like the old tallow formula LEA which was also sold under the Vie-Long brand. That, and the now discontinued Wilkinson Sword stick is really good ... in fact, the vintage Cuticura soap I'm using at the moment is a dead-ringer for the Wilkinson Sword stick and I wonder if they simply bought it and continued selling it. I think my vintage soap is from the '60s.

Since you have a mountain of Arko, if you fancied a slightly different toilet cleaner scent than grab a stick of Derby.

got the wilkinson sword blue stick havent used it yet though

@pjgh forgot to say that im not frugal i like to use as much as product as i want and the lea shaving stick seemed like it used a fair bit of the stick but whenever ive used arko it doesnt doesnt even leave a dent in the stick lol

maybe because the arko is a bit of a harder soap then lea i assume?

quick question for anyone who puts alum block powder in a sprayer bottle with water for post shave,
how much alum powder do you usually put in?

@TobyC ive learnt a lot from your posts seriously, in regads to keeping it simple and using products that are tried and tested but i wanted to ask which modern razors do you have?
