PAA Synthetic Brushes

The peregrino has recently caught my eye. Everyone seems to be impressed by this Roswell fibre in particular. Mantic59 praised it recently.
I took possession of one of these the other week, this is now my go to, it may be that I was using an inferior brush before but this thing works an absolute treat. Holds water really well and I really like the handle sizing/weight.

Used the Peregrino again last night, this time with Black Ship Grooming's Thomas Tew. It performed excellently. I stand by my comment above.
I bought a sample of the Thos. Tew AS last year and was not impressed. It was like splashing OJ on my face and the scent lasted about as long!! Major fail that AS. :(

I ended up moving the Black Ship Grooming Soaps on. The performance and scent was fine but they just weren't going to stand up against some of the other soaps in my den.

How do these PAA brushes compare to the Chubby 2 Synthetic? Are they in the same ballpark in terms of softness and density?
Here's a side by side with the CH2:

The PAA knots are softer. They're also 24mm. Completely different face feel to the CH2. See how the CH2 knot is set deeper in to the handle which pulls the fibres closer together? The PAA brushes are more of a hybrid fan shape. Personally I prefer the PAA brushes. If you're after something similar to the CH2, it's not these.

I didn’t think there were knots softer than the CH2! Thanks for the comparison, the PAA is certainly interesting.

I’ve been looking for a second cheaper brush for travel. I’ll look into this and the RazoRock Plissoft Bruce.

YaQi make a small 22mm Tuxedo synth that is perfect for travel. I had one on a whim and sold to a friend who is a cruise afficionado. Dandy lil' fella!!

In my opinion the PAA knots are much better if you face lather. The CH2 is undoubtedly a quality knot but the density and short loft made it near impossible to splay and have a nice face lather with, I'm sure they're great if you bowl lather.

I really like the look of this new PAA brush:

@SS2013 - will you guys be stocking this in the near future?

Leave it with us and we will see what we can do ... interest noted, if we can, we will.

In their description they openly admit it's not a new knot. It's simply a reverse color Tuxedo.

Yaqi have a new brush out, the handle looks quite similar to the PAA Peregrino...
