As a newbie to this site (but seriously old) I splashed out on the Rockwell because I had no measure of how tough my beard actually is. I quickly got into the swing and found that setting 4 on the Rockwell was needed for a decent shave (perhaps 2 for a second 'evening' shave), so it's relatively tough as well as growing in all directions. Because I am hooked on Geo F Trumper's glycerine Face Food I tried Lubrico glycerine soap for a while but found that the lather died very quickly. What do you think is my problem - unbranded synthetic brush (although it's well made, big and handsome), the soap or my lathering technique? I am getting fantastic shaves, though, with Dorco 301 bladed (so much more comfortable than Feather) finished off with an alum block rub, then Geo F's Face Food.
