mild/aggressive de blade & mild/aggressive razor, what combo do you prefer?

Slightly off subject, but i have found it also pays to experiment with the way you shave.

For years i did a 3 pass shave consisting of first pass going downwards, then second pass upwards from neckline, then finally sideways inwards from the ears.

After watching some shaving vids, i tried a different approach of downwards, then inwards, then finally upwards and it works well for me - have been doing this for a couple of months and get shaves that are consistently smoother and closer - noticeably less skin irritation.

Point is that shaving is so much more than razor and blade choice.

It always amuses me that we get bombarded (and I mean bombarded) with issues like ‘What's the best/who has the most/the sharpest...' and so on. It seems like some want a short cut (as it were); rather than discovering for themselves. Blades are relatively cheap and surely the joy of this is finding out what works for you. And what works for one isn't necessarily going to work for the next person. As previously mentioned, there's a bit too much overanalysis going on.

Back in my car detailing days, there was a well respected fellow who worked for one of the major companies and wrote a lot on their corporate forums. He had a strapline: find something you like and use it often. The journey to finding the things we like is all part of the fun and when we find that something is not what we like, there's always another sucker ... sorry, BST

been thinking about this recently and i reckon im an all out type of guy, has to be aggressive + aggressive

i dont know if its because i got thick coarse hair or becuase i always have to have BBS and always go against the grain

What actual DE Razor do you use for your Head Shaves ? I note that you quite like SE Razors that utilise snapped DE blades, but find the Leaf a bit boring so you must have alternatives that you like .

actually good question as i need tyo count how many razors ive got now lol

yea well recently ive really been getting into adjustables at the moment and believe it or not mate the de razor SNMIRN aka baby futur (or whatever its called) for only just over a tenner delivered is my best one and i own a few others like the qshave, gillette slim adjustable and the black beauty (long handle) too

i really like the saiver pro, the russian de razor that takes two de blades and is a hybrid as in open comb on one side and safety bar on the other side, only cost like £8 delivered from russia but its an amazing razor, i think its underrated and goes under the radar imo tbh

also got a fair few other ones like the henson de razor, fatip open comb grande

still need to try out my gillette flare tip and my brand new feather popular

@mpf9ret tbh i think i prefer shaving ym head with the twig then the leaf,
i just feel like the pivoting head on the leaf is way too flexible,
would be good if they even offered a version that doesnt even have a pivoting head

saying that i think if men use it for manscaping and women use it for their legs arms etc then i can see why the pivoting head could be useful

I seem to have assumed that you were a Head Shaver with a beard, but judging by the amount of DEs you use - you may well Shave your face as well as your Head.
Please correct me if I have got things wrong.

yea thats right, skinhead with beard is the look i love tbh

i havent shaved my facial since i was about 19/20 always had a beard since then and im 36 now,
i have though had it at various lengths, sometimes shorted, sometimes longer but never shaven

tbh ive got a bit of a surreal relationship with shaving, love shaving my head but absolutely hate shaving my facial hair tbh, its strange and i dont understand why

even then when i shaved my beard off at like 19 before i ghrew it back i just remember one thing that stuck with me,
and that was how cold my face felt when the wind hit me as soon as i took a step outside lol
