I too note that the ladies appreciate a nicely turned out brogue LOL 'plastic' shoes just don't give off that real man appeal!More ladies than guys, I'd say. But then, even wearing leather shoes rather than trainers is going against the flow where I live.
I look at a person's shoes and attire in general when I first see or meet them.
I would guess it is through old school spit and polish and many an hour with a soft cloth. P.That is some mirror finish JohnnyO, any tips would be very much appreciated. I thought the toes and heels should be the places to carryout the mirror polish, because it cracks where the shoe / boot flexes. I notice if you go into berluti, their display shoes are polished similarly; but you are paying upwards of £1K to own a pair. Would really appreciate how you get that shine!!

That's what I do, I have a spray bottle with water in it for that purpose, there is nothing that beats true elbow grease!A quick cheat for getting the base layers, which works for me, is to apply a thin coat of polish, allow to dry, then sprinkle a couple of drops of clean water (not spit) on the area to be bulled and buff off with a microfibre or velvet pad.
This is just a shortcut to build up the layers. After that any U tube vid on Spit & Polish will show you how.
Hope this assists.
