Hi all,
I think the last time I posted on this forum was in 2016! Since then, I have truly fallen down the rabbit hole I have been shaving with a DE since my first post in Jan 2016 and have now accrued a substantial amount of shave gear
I am now starting a new chapter on my shaving journey. I recently purchased my first straight razor, a Thiers Issard 5/8 Le Grelot Medaille D'or and all the gear, apart from honing stones, that goes with it! Big step I know lol I just felt it was time. The razor was shave ready when I recieved it as it had been honed and stroped before being shipped out to me.
My 1st & 2nd shaves were not as bad as expected however I did cut myself a few times. I took my time and eventually by the 3rd/4th shave I managed a 3 pass shave without any blood being spilt and a fairly satisfactory shave, although still not as close as my R41or my Feather Artist Club lol.
Anyway, I will be regularly checking in on the forum and will probably be asking quite a few questions around the subject of Straight razors, for example where to get it honed when the time comes, or should I invest in some stones, buy a cheap straight and practice etc
Well thats all for now, but I will be back
