I've been wet shaving for the past year, using a Merkur 34C and the longer handled Merkur 20C, experimenting with both soap and creams. I've tried a variety of blades and find the Tesco brand blades best, followed by Feather. Sandalwood is my go to fragrance.
My most prized shaving possession (given to me soon after I started wet shaving) is a boxed Gillette open comb razor and blade box set plated in gold. The maroon coloured box is lined in purple velvet and the razor handle has stamped on it “Pat. Jan 13 1920 USA.†This set is very well preserved and I've only used it once but now feel ready to give it a turn more often.
I read the threads on this forum with great interest and look forward to further trials and errors but will never have a multi bladed piece of plastic near my face again, nor will I resort to anything shaving wise out of an aerosol can.
