Finished.!!

Should I assume you wouldn't recommend the SV soap, if you're glad it's gone? I've been tossing up on cubebe but see mixed reports on their soaps in general.
I definitely would recommend them- just that I did get a bit bored of this scent and wanted to use it up. I’ve got 3 other SV shaving soaps (and 4 or 5 bath soaps) that I use. Imo they’re great soaps, nothing to fault there!

Good night sweet Prince....The Gentlemen's Face Care Club premium cream. Following a recommendation on here a number of year's ago - I have always had a tub if this wonderful cream in't cupboard. Another one bites the dust. I can highly recommend this cream. Cheap as chips on Amazon + they tend to have a regular flash sales on their socials. I have been running down the soaps and creams that I have, and will probably have a break from this stuff. Especially, as Fat February aproaches & I fancy treating myself to something completely different.

This morning I finished off my tub of CBL fresh Vetiver shave soap.

Had some great shaves with it. But I have plenty of soaps that I have purchased, waiting to be tried out.
Could you tell me what the vetiver smelled like? I bought some Cyril Salter Vetiver shaving cream a couple of years ago, and it had a disgusting smell. Like a stale ashtray, but worse and stronger. Feeling there was a mistake, I contacted Salter but had no reply.

It was inspired by the scent of Tom Ford Grey Vetiver.

This is a harder one for me to describe as I never smelled Tom Ford green Vetiver.

Have you smelled the old Fine soap version of clean Vetiver? I haven’t, but it’s supposed to have smelled like TF grey Vetiver as well.

The CBL version wasn’t very strong on the strength of scent.

Best I could describe it was kind of like fresh cut green grass on a good day.

There are different styles of Vetiver. Kind of like fougere’s.

Sounds like from what you got was a Smokey Vetiver.

Sterling soaps made one called Port Au Prince. If I recall correctly? It smelled like you were in a Smokey swamp.

At first I liked it. But then after about a dozen or so shaves. It was just too much for me. It don’t think it was very popular and the scent was discontinued from their line up within a couple of years.

Thanks. Now I know it wasn't a mistake. I gave it away and was given it back within a week.

Finished my London Oatcake "English Pear" shaving soap.

I've had 50 uses out of this soap I bought in 2020, which is about average for me.

The scent is quite synthetic as it reminds my of chemicals in my chemistry classes. Very similar to pear drops which I don't think is a real pear scent. Nevertheless, I do like pear drops so I like this soap scent.
Performance was top-notch. The only negative is that it gave my skin a slight burning sensation afterwards but this did disappear in time.

Would I buy it again? Not this scent but I might try another scent in the Oatcake range. I still have a mountain of soaps to get through though so it may be some time.
Many of my soaps are just a circumference ring in the tub now, so I can see a lot of soaps being finished in quick secession.
