Hello all! Recently I purchased an Ever-Ready C40 brush with an Old Spice mug for $14.00 on eBay. Could I get some help with when the brush was produced and what kind of hair the knot is made up of? Many thanks for anyone who knows.783E64CD-3C02-4803-9F13-206A44FDC218.jpeg8B25D295-1BD4-4BF7-89C0-6C6D6140CAA9.jpeg8E7EA568-B684-4B75-B380-EB8CE91ABD8A.jpeg

I would guess 1950s and maybe a dyed boar bristle for the knot, however I am not an expert in these or any thing else for that matter.
There is a large thread over on Badger & Blade regarding these Ever-ready brushes so may be worth a look see! :)

It's dyed boar, and one of the best boar brushes ever!!! They were made for years and there's no way to pin it down unfortunately, they weren't really meant to last forever, they were sort of disposable. The Ever~Ready brand which was part of the American Safety Razor Company made brushes from 1915 to the early 1990s, and that brush was available for most of, if not all of, that time period. You can still find them new in the box occasionally, and for very reasonable prices.
