Good to see an Arko thread revived.
I'd bought a few puck of Arko a few years back and used the first and not really enjoyed it that much back then (and it eventually went rancid!) and the other puck got pushed to the back of my cupboard and I forgot about it until I recently saw the Arko August thread on B&B. I'm fairly sure I didn't really enjoy that much before as I wasn't loading enough soap (like the pitfalls of using MWF) but once I got that sorted it was difficult to get a bad lather after that and I've enjoyed using it so much I am thinking of getting some Arko shaving sticks. It produced a delightfully thick, slick, cushioning lather and even though the scent might not be for everyone, it's one that washes off your skin with the lather. I don't find it to be drying as well.
IMO, there's a reason why soaps like Arko, Palmolive, Proraso, Tabac and so on are regarded as classics as they are all excellent performers.
