Just spotted that Amazon now have their own brand “solimo” de blades. They are even cheaper than the Astra at £6.95 per 100.
Given the price difference I would probably just stick with the Astra but wondering if anybody has given these a try?
Cheers

They're rebranded persona Tomy (just like some own supermarket blades or bluebeards revenge ones). I've tried them - in mild razors they work fine, my aggressive razors such as blackbird, didn't like them

I have used the supermarket re-branded Personas and they are an OK blade. My subjective feeling at that time was that they were a little sharper, maybe even a little "better" for me than the (pre-2017) Derby Extras i was using at that time.

I have since moved to using predominantly Astra SP because, in my limited experience, i haven't found anything which brings the sharpness and smoothness of Astra SP at a similar price point.

Its "Solimo", which is one of Amazons own brand's.

Have bought a few Amazon branded or sub-branded items and they have all been very decent quality for the price.

@LeeMaz what are those butterfly razors like that come with these Solomon blades?

I assume mild or mild-mid aggression
I tried it when I first started shaving with a DE and I had poor technique, but having checked the razor, (its in a drawer to be binned) its decidedly average, slightly loose head and there's much better out there. I quickly upgraded to a Edwin Jagger Kelvin and didn't look back. But it's still a bargain the blades are cheap and cheerful, I still occasionally use them.

Isn't the razor a Baili rebrand and effectively a Superspeed clone with tabs covered?

I’m not sure I’d have to check, it wasn’t very good regardless.
I was just wondering, because if it's the DB279, the one i have is actually pretty decent. A little loose when open, but closes down tightly and shaves pretty much like a Tech.
If it's the same razor, maybe yours is a little off.
