I have quite a slow broadband connection so until recently I would often have to pause a YouTube vid and let it 'load'. The red bar would travel across and I'd know when it was ready to watch. Recently it seems that this has stopped happening which means sometimes I end up watching something which regularly pauses, annoying the hell out of me. Is there any way of preventing this happening, perhaps my browser setting have changed? Any ideas???

PC if its just music you are wanting to listen to go to grooveshark uses less bandwidth as it is only songs and no videos.
I am using it just now in the middle of the North Sea for listening to music.

Yeah Grooveshark is fine.
As per YT, yes I have noticed it too... plus, I was up in arms after having my line upgraded to 30Mb/s and YT getting even worse then with my previous 3Mb/s line... then I noticed I'm not the only one bit...ng so I guess YT has changed something.

But you still can say "fe... off" to YT like Father Jack Hackett would say from Father Ted and go and listen to Grooveshark... or last.fm - that's a good choice too!

I'm not sure switching to another service solves the problem if you like youtube and you still want to watch youtube. It's a bit like suggesting that you should switch from Catholicism to Judaism just because the services at the catholic church are a bit slow. I.E. the speed might not be the be all and end all. And your connection speed is not going to change after all.

PC: For what it's worth I have been on Youtube tonight and clips are still loading with that "red bar" as they always have done.
Is your computer up to date with all its' updates? You need the most up to date Adobe flash player to be as efficient as possible.

Thanks chaps! I have found an add-on for Firefox to download YouTuby vids. I'm not so bothered about music but things like Peppa Pig are good!
