Your Perfect Home

I always fancied an underground layer with entrance/exit in some anonymous utilitarian building, like an electricity substation. I rather like the ones from the 1940s. Kinda like this: https://www.wowhaus.co.uk/2017/07/1...-electric-substation-in-bicester-oxfordshire/ ... but it would need the underground layer.

I like repurposing. Alas, too much in this country is impossible due to planning law, but we are starting to get things like this through. We've seen windmills, water towers and so on, former large factory buildings renovated into offices and aparments. I like that approach. Leave the shell, gut the insides and repurpose for modern uses. Annoyingly, much of this is well out of reach of what you'd call regular folks, yet there is an abundance of this kind of building being knocked down and cleared away.

Or, a floor of a factory would do me ...

I like space. I hate being confined by small spaces, little rooms, rooms laid out already for a single purpose. I like space that can be used dynamically. It can be a bugger when cooking smells invade the rest of the space, though. I often find myself mentally open-planning buildings.
