XL Block of Alum Wanted (info)

Does anyone know where you can buy a large block of Alum in the Uk?
I have just weighed my old bloc osoma and it only weighs 11g from its 75g start weight so i think its time to buy a new one.
I am looking for the largest block possible preferably over 100g and preferably one with a plastic "clippity cloppity" case.
The only ones i can find in this weight are AOS and Trumpers which both cost a fortune.
I have heard Shavex make one in 115g at a reasonable price but cannot find a Uk seller.
Can anyone help?

Connaught has one that's 100g. No case for it but it's only £3.90

Do you have an Asian grocery/supermarket near you? You should be able to find alum there for around 50 pence (100g)
I have not seen anything larger than 100g but when they are this cheap you will find it adequate, you could use something like a plastic food/soap travel container to house your'e alum.

Does your town/city ever have one of those visiting Continental Markets?

I got mine from a French Marseille soap stand, a huge unshaped lump about half the size of a tennis ball for a fiver.

I have a Asian Supermarket nearby which sells the Alum blocks you are refering to.
They are cheap as chips but look as rough as a badgers arse and are very powdery too.
I want the smooth variety like Osma Bloc and i fear the cheap ones at Connaught are probably the same as the Asian ones.
I like the idea of the Continental Market. Ilkley Town Ctr occasionally has one but normally in the Summer time and i dont think my sliver will last til next year.

Received the Alum block from Connaught today ( super quick delivery).
Paul also threw in another block for me to try free of charge.
The freebie block is exactly the same as the Asian supermarket ones and looks not as good quality.
However what a bargain his 100g Alum bar is, it is as good as a Bloc Osma for less than half the price and when properly looked after will last years.
If you are after a Alum block do not hesitate buying this one.
I will however use both bars and will update board with the differences.
