Wireless connection

Hi
Since re-newing my McAfee subs. I cannot access the web properly wirelessly, only thing that works is Google and it's minions, maps etc, these load no problem, anything else, gubbed. It is weird. McAfee have dne their bit saying they are nor responsible, Sky sent me a new router. Same problem.
HELP!

Well... At this point I would ask you you hand me your backup discs so I could restore your PC to a working state.

I would wager a substantial quantity of ale that this is a McAfee fault (say the 5 litre can of Stewart Brewing's No.3 Edinburgh Ale I have here settling) - it's getting to be as bad as Norton Internet Bloatware for causing more problems than it solves.

Rangers, one way of testing the connection is to use a linux live cd. It will boot from your cd/dvd drive and run in memory without touching your hard drive. You can establish a connection to your wireless router and it will give an idea if it is your installed operating system or your hardware giving you the problem.

McAfee state not their fault. Going to switch it off and see how we go. Brace yourselves girls, I'm coming in dry!

McAfee Scriptjockey in Bangalore is sure to say that... (so will a Symantec, Microsoft, Apple,...)

Yup! asked for refund. 1-2 days for reply, funny! when I was buying, got someone right away.

Will try some free stuff

I recommend avast ,been using it for a few years on several machines , avg is'nt bad but it seems to hog more resources .

Cheers Damian
What about updates etc, does it do it automatically, what else do I need

Avast updates daily , you might want to turn off the notification . Also Avast has several providers running and you can turn them off(uses less resources) if you want .

It's now open for business and sliding down very pleasantly indeed. I think I know where I shall be next Friday afternoon. Bilston Glen.

HM, your avatar! naughty, naughty.

You could end up in Saughton wearing that particular garment, never mind Bilgeton Glen with your new age pals.

I WILL be supporting England in the world cup and every home nation in every competition in every sport.

So there!
