Dave.

The shaving soap stick trifecta - Palmolive, Speick and Wilkinson Sword - are all, top tier, superb performers; amongst the best shaving soaps at any price for me; use them as is or grate them into a tub, you will get cushiony, slick, heavy, creamy, lather with ease...

What a great phrase and idea - I'd venture - De Vergulde Hand - Valobra and Vie Long (the old formula tallow Lea.) - I.

I have yet to try De Vergulde Hand, but I agree Valobra and Lea (old tallow formula) are great performers and I think the Lea/Vie Long/La Toja plastic case / holder is just thoughtful, useful design. I am now giving thinking time to how I can strip the print off a Lea container to use with a Palmolive stick; my OCD does not allow a Palmolive stick in a Lea branded case...

Tried one of the Wilkies a while back, good lather and all that, but the smell was very off-putting.

Picked up a De Vergulde Hand a while back in Amsterdam, quite nice, was planning on grabbing some more next time through, but the virus put the kibosh on my travel plans.

I ordered some De Vergulde Hand products from www.foodworld-xl.co.uk and they have been slow in sending but one item wasn't in stock when the order was dispatched (Alum stick worth £1.95) and they refunded the item cost plus the cost of shipping for the whole order from the Netherlands which was £10 something)
