WiFi signal booster.

Hi all.
The living room in which I have my Tv somehow seems to stifle the WiFi signal, not thick walls or anything just struggles to get a strong signal, as an aside my phone reception is also poor in this room.
it’s not an issue on my iPad but I use a firestick in my Tv and hate it when it lags and just get the spinning circle.
We can’t move to another room as we don’t have one, it’s now a kitchen diner area thingy.
I’ve looked at WiFi extenders but am wary as I don’t know much about them.
Has anybody got one and can confirm that they work ?

Dave.

A matched pair of powerline extenders will usually do the trick.

One will plug into a mains power socket next to your internet router and be connected to it by a short cable - it then send internet via your mains wiring to the other extender, which is plugged into a mains socket in the area you want to boost your wifi.

These below are decent and the video shows how they are installed

+1 for the powerline adapters. Alternatively a mesh system like the BT one.

Oh absolutely on the Mesh system, but it depends how far you want to stretch your wallet. A pair of powerline adapters is a relatively affordable way to quickly and easily fill in a Wi-Fi dead zone.

In an ideal world, we would all have Mesh systems with structured cabling, to give full Backhaul between nodes ... but it don't come cheap.
