What razor to give?

A good friend's birthday is coming up. I've got the perfect gift(for me), a birthday date code Super adjustable in great condition. Trouble is although he is a daily wet shaver he hasn't got much to shave except a few chin whiskers and tache.

He's also never acknowledged the pleasure aspect of shaving so although he never complains it's neither a chore or pleasure. I do give him the odd pack of blades and soap but he rarely if ever comments on them being better or worse than what he is currently using, so I might just toss him a Flare Tip and be done with it, it will be an upgrade to his Parker. What do you think?

I have to admit that my initial reaction is that your friend isn't really interested in shaving that much.

I gave my father-in-law a bowl of Trumper coconut soap at the beginning of this year, and although he thanked me for it at the time, he's never commented on it since, so I've not bothered to ask him about it or offer him anything else.

The Flare-tip Rocket is a nice shaver but if he's happy with what he's got then it might not get used. Also, some people might turn their noses up at a second-hand, or in this case "maybe-more"-hand razor.

A tricky one - but if he does use the Rocket I'm sure he'll appreciate it.

The flare tip would be a generous and well intended gift - I think that's all that really matters.

The old adage 'it's the though that counts' really does matter. I'm still gathering up bits and pieces to give to my pal as a starter kit and I know he'll appreciate it far more than vouchers or a shop's 'gift set'

After doing a reccy on his bathroom and reading the reviews and thinking about whether to give him a vintage razor I finally decided a to buy him a Mule R41 from Connaught and he was very pleased with it and so was I.

I really couldn't resist so I had a shave with it myself. I liked it, had an excellent shave with a feather in it, really smooth and drama free. You could shave with this razor twice a day, very mild, nowt wrong with that and he can finally ditch that Parker.

I'd be happy with that. SWMBO has bought me (well I bought for her to give me as a gift) a bulk lot of red personnas.

If she got me a razor, or if anyone got me a razor I'd be glad. Looks nice too much better looking than the parkers.

Great choice I love mine so, obviously, it comes with sky high marks from me. A much nicer shave (all round) and better build quality than its competitors.

You'll be having one also, give it a week or so..... ;)
