What made your day a good one

A big fluffy queen bumblebee was flying around my garden this afternoon as I did the washing up. A lovely sight and a sign of spring having arrived. In her estimation, anyhow...

Happy new year, old girl.

Not rushing dropping off the kids to breakfast club before rushing to work

Annex tea half hour in bed, breakfast with the kids, leisurely walk to their schools home for a brew.

I love a week off when the kids are in school

At our place we only get 1 Saturday off in 6 and mine has dropped on this Easter weekend - Finish Thursday and not back in till Tuesday. Result!

Garden centre after work today for a few little plants and a load of compost and a quick whizz around the £1 shops and Wilkinsons for some bulbs. Now looking forward to hopefully (weather permitting) spending Good Friday doing a spot of gardening with the assistance of the dog (pictured) and a couple of cold drinks. Something I really miss over the long grey winter.

As I sit here in this coffee shop-bookstore place overlooking the San Francisco Bay with my Karma WiFi turned on, my vintage Parker pen lying on my Japanese Hobonichi planner, the organic (responsibly sourced) coffee held warm in my Klean Kanteen - I check the time on my one-hand 24hr Slow watch and all I can think of is 'When in the world did I become such a hipster!?!'

Fighting the urge to punch myself in the face I sip some of the organic, responsibly sourced coffee and grab my handmade Popov leather wallet and head off to the counter for a refill.

I really hate what I have become :)

I like those Hobonichi planners.

If I had any plans, I would probably get one.

Nah, who am I kidding? I'll have one before the end of the week!

If you don't mind it in japanese (they do have an English version (they have daily quotes on each page)) you can get the 2016 (with Jan start date) for $17 now.

They also have one Techo planner that starts with April 1 (which is just a few days away) and goes until end-March next year (that version is only available in japanese though).

Love mine even though it's intimidating to Google Hobonichi use and see what people with much more creativity than me can use theirs for.

Me I write and make simple doodles to remind me about what stood out to me that day :)

Ordered a TV remote through Amazon uk and when it arrived fitted batteries and was amazed and delighted to discover that its' sales hype was true. Press the 'magic' button, point it at the set and 15 seconds later I'm good to go. All for under a tenner. YAY @ me !
