Hi there,

Not wanting to derail this thread too much, let me just briefly mention my trip to Colorado last summer and the wonderful toys and products I saw available in some stores I went into. Bought some various luscious and exotic combustibles in different forms such as dry herb and wax/shatter concentrates and the proper vaping tools needed for each. That's still drawing smoke into my lungs though, even if it's a less harmful method than a water pipe. Sadly because of the severity of my problem now, my body has about zero tolerance to any kinda irritants and the buzz just isn't worth the....well it's not a good trade off anymore. Hospital stays of 3-4 days being hooked up to various machines and the crap coffee and food offered is the usual result of smoking even in fairly small amounts.

Hah, I bet you would love a road trip to Boulder! I know for me it was the kid inna candy store thing.

Hells bells, Mart. I hope you bought some lottery tickets. Sounds like you're due some good luck.

Now then, as you know we are all one giant community here.

As such, if anything like this happens again you know you can rely on us to feed your various primates.

Carl will take the first leg and, at the same time, will also look after your massive stash of Xpec. You may, when you are better, imagine your stash has dwindled somewhat but rest assured that will be the meds affecting your memory.

I'll take the second leg and will also look after your various shiny boibles and French floozies.

Don't thank us. It's what we're here for.

@dodgy

You're bloody right I'd love a trip to Colorado ..... For medicinal purposes and all that :D

That's a bummer, though ....... I did my whole 'new lease of life' thing over the last couple of years; lost six stone, stopped drinking (too much), started eating healthy, playing sports, cycling and training .....

And what I found was that I still needed at least one vice to call my own, or I was going to go mental with all this 'health' ..... and I like to get a little 'chilled out' so I took it up again after nine years. I know it can give you a good cough and sputter even by vaping, so it's a shame you can't even get away with that much.

Mart

Oh.....did you wanna try that F type? Might be a few months wait otherwise.....

Yikes, @dodgy - you've sure been through the ringer and have my sympathy (I know... not that you want sympathy but tough, you've dealt with a lot worse).

You did the right thing packing in the interesting stuff (that's a surprisingly tough one, I hear) and serious well done for quitting smoking cold.
Just an aside: The vape thing beats smoking if you can't quit (and may improve COPD CAT scores and oxygen levels if the patient has previously been unsuccessful in quitting - anecdotal based on three friends / acquaintances. There are other considerations with vaping - PG intolerance may apply and may COPD symptoms.

You also have my admiration (eek), apart from the inside bits coming outside - that's just eek.

Stay safe.

Seeing my daughter aged 10'singing in a choir concert. Being a right old softy I have to admit it bringing a tear to my eye.

Then on leaving being approached by a fellow scout. I've recently stepped back from one group. Long story involving what I consider a lot of disrespect towards me and also some fellow leaders. Another leader has also stepped away, again due to disrespect aimed at him too. Well this person is also considering stepping down but a few have a view apparently to setting up a new group. And they said they would like me as the overall leader, Group Scout Leader. So I'm feeling pretty honoured to be held in that regard. Apparently a testament to the way I treat other leaders and young people. It's a long complicated story of an old leader who has friends in places etc etc . I'm my opinion it's terrible that people have their own agendas higher on their list of priorities than that of the young people under our Scouting care.

After the great hand that life dealt me on Monday AND Tuesday (which I really mean, no dryness to that statement), the parking ticket was just a giggle. I'm so "up on the deal" from Monday and Tuesday with various issues that giving £35 to a cash-needy Council feels like charity ;)

I'll figure out a way to deprive central Government of the same sum and it'll be a Robin Hood thing.

Keep smiling, folks :D
